Missions

Giving blood is an essential and irreplaceable part of saving lives. The regional establishments which go to make up the EFS therefore have a monopoly on the collection, preparation, analysis and distribution of labile blood products. The EFS at Marie Lannelongue (on the ground floor) verifies the immunohematology of recipients (i.e. it checks the compatibility between the receiver and product), and that blood products are delivered to the patients of the Centre and 6 other health establishments.

The EFS unit welcomes blood donors on:
Monday - Tuesday - Thursday: 8.30am - 4pm
2nd Saturday of the month: 8.30am - 1pm

Organ donation

You can register by downloading a form at http://www.dondorganes.fr, or by post to: Agence de la Biomedecine, Registre national des refus au prÉlèvement, TSA 90001-93572 Saint-Denis La Plaine cedex, FRANCE.

You must sign and date your registration documents and provide a photocopy of your identity papers and a self-addressed envelope with postage to receive confirmation of receipt. You must notify the Agency of all changes to your civil status.

You can change your mind at any time, by following the same process as for registration.

If, however, you wish to be an Organ Donor,

you must tell your next of kin, so that they can transmit your wishes, or better still have a donor card with you, which will greatly facilitate the donation by confirming your position. Please note that this card is not legally binding in any way, and the medical team will consult your next of kin before envisaging removing any organ.

You can download a card on the Agence de la Biomedecine website:
